![]() Please tell me the rationale behind these indecent costumes that were shown to families and done so publicly. “During an event put on at the library today there was a performance by a Carnival Arts Company,” the library tweeted.Īpparently this is meant to encourage kids in Redbridge to pick up reading for summer. It is not immediately clear who the performer was… Video footage and photographs posted on social media shows a number of performers outside the event, including an individual dressed in a rainbow monkey costume exposing a fake buttocks and a fake penis. Redbridge Libraries hosted the Mandiga Arts Group at a Redbridge Libraries Summer Reading Challenge event Saturday in east London, the Evening Standard reported. Like this one, for example:Ī London library is apologizing for hosting an event where an actor described as a “Rainbow Dildo Butt Monkey” reportedly entertained children. I’ve responded to this criticism at length, but with increasing frequency, the stories emerging in the news speak for themselves. Children love dress-up and costumes, so what’s the harm? Only a prude or a fearmonger would call this sort of thing inappropriate. Social conservatives-myself included-have been roundly mocked for objecting to trends like Drag Queen Story Hour, events featuring drag queens reading to children between the ages of three to eight (younger if the event is held at a daycare) and intended to promote gender fluidity through “glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models,” as the DQSH’s official website put it.

![]() Ever since I started using it as a primer, I’ve hardly gotten any acne at all. After years of searching for the perfect regimen to keep my skin free of acne, I really value the fact that the ULTRA doesn’t make me break out. Although it doesn’t wick away water like the MAC Blot did, it absorbs way more oil, requires fewer touchups, and doesn’t feel heavy at all. I wear it year round, both under and over my liquid makeup. Mattify ULTRA is the face powder I use every day & it never fails. **Why is Dimethicone (silicone) bad for your skin? Click here to find out**įinal Decision: MAC Blot VS Mattify ULTRA It will be breakout city if you are acne prone. But combine a hot sunny day + dimethicone + sweat and for the next few days you’ll be cursing yourself for ever applying this stuff to your face. If only it didn’t clog my pores, I would love the stuff, because it helps my foundation to be more water & sweat resistant. That’s probably what causes this powder to feel heavy and waxy. I thought that only liquid products like primers & foundation contained this, so didn’t even think to check before using the powder. I checked the ingredients in MAC Blot & found that it has Dimethicone (silicone) which always causes breakouts on me. My skin was a mess – had at least 10 breakouts. ![]() During the time I used the compact, this happened repeatedly, so I started storing the puff upside down to prevent oil transfer. I scraped off the top layer to reveal the fresh powder underneath. ![]() I saw that skin oils had transferred from the puff to the compact, giving the powder an oily sheen. One look in the mirror confirmed my fears – I was greasy, blotchy & the powder had settled into my pores.Īfter I re-did my makeup, I used the Mac Blot to set it. By this time my face felt like it was caked in powder. With no time to worry about makeup, we hopped back in line for the coasters and finished our day around 7pm. I was impressed that it didn’t disturb my foundation.Īfter a while I was oily again, so I re-powdered. On the White Water Safari Coaster, my face got pretty wet, but the water just kind of beaded up & dried by itself. I did a quick touch up with the MAC Blot, but realized it was starting to feel kind of heavy and thick. I caught a glimpse of myself in a metal napkin holder, and my face was reflective with oil. After a few hours of roller coaster fun, we took a break to get some food. The finish looked nice and fresh again, so figured I was good to go. I just can’t say enough good things about this god send for THICK HAIR! And it’s easy to maneuver and manage while using it.I patted the MAC Blot over my foundation, being careful not to streak my makeup. It’s so nice to have that blown out look for style and convenience, but it’s perfectly primed for straightening (I’m sure I can get BONE STRAIGHT). Now, I have myself a near salon quality blow out with nothing but this tool and CLEAN HAIR! I didn’t even towel dry, just air dried for 15 minutes. I actually have 3b wavy hair that's very thick. It also has two heat and speed settings and a cool option. The oval brush design smooths the hair and the round edges create volume - leaving you with a salonworthy blowout at home. This brush has hype with more than 213,000 5-star reviews, and it really does live up to it. Instead, owners of Metro Exodus will have to download an entirely new file to get access to all the beefy enhancements on offer. In the trailer description for this improved version of the game, the devs say the upgrade is such a beast that you can't just install a patch to get it. You can download the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition right now if you'd like, but be warned: it requires a ray tracing-capable GPU at the very minimum. They've released the Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition, expanding the FPS's ray tracing capabilities, increasing framerates and display resolutions, among other technical upgrades. With this FSR 2.0 mod applied, AMD RDNA2 owners now have the ability to play Metro Exodus Enhance Edition at much higher performance with only a small loss in image quality.I've found that the dingy post-apocalyptic world of Metro Exodus always looked quite good, but today developers 4A Games made those visuals even better. Since DLSS is an NVIDIA-exclusive technology, Radeon users were left behind without a high-quality upscaling solution and stuck with lower framerates. ![]() Metro Exodus Enhance Edition is the first game that absolutely requires a ray tracing capable graphics card-there is no "RT off" render path. Performance-wise, compared to native resolution, the FSR 2.0 performance uplift is a great improvement to the game, and compared to DLSS 2.4 in this game, FSR 2.0 basically works identically to DLSS 2.4 in terms of performance gains across all resolutions. ![]() While moving through the world at day time, FSR 2.0 image stability is slightly less stable than DLSS 2.4. The most noticeable difference between DLSS 2.4 and FSR 2.0 is temporal stability. The ray tracing features, like reflections, are working as intended with the FSR 2.0 mod applied.Ĭompared to DLSS 2.4, FSR 2.0 provides a similar level of image quality if we exclude the few issues described earlier, which may of course be fixed in the future. Just like in other games we tested, the FSR 2.0 mod conflicts with in-game motion blur, creating black borders around the image as if squinting, so we recommend turning motion blur off. To be fair, DLSS 2.4 also has the same issue (black trails on power lines), but it's less visible on the DLSS 2.4 image. DLSS 2.4 to hide things such as particles from the reconstruction. The issue with power lines is probably due to the lack of proper masking because FSR 2.0 needs different mask inputs vs. In some scenarios, it may even look like smearing, which most people will find quite distracting. We also found shimmering issues on steel objects at lower resolutions, such as 1080p, and black trails on power lines while moving. The most noticeable of those with this FSR 2.0 mod is excessive ghosting on NPCs and enemy creatures at medium and far distances and player weapon while moving quickly, on weapon scopes in particular. However, as this mod is not an official implementation, it has some issues TAA and DLSS 2.4 do not. In "quality mode," FSR 2.0 delivers better image quality and performance while running at lower internal resolution. The quality of vegetation, grass in particular, is improved by eliminating shimmering at lower resolutions, and the image is less blurry overall. FSR 2.0 deals with small thin objects that are far away better, like wires or tree leaves, for example. With FSR 2.0 active, image quality is very noticeably upgraded at all resolutions compared to native TAA. However, you can still adjust the setting manually in NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Radeon Software. DLSS was manually updated to version 2.4.3 by swapping the DLL file.ĬonclusionIn Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, none of the anti-aliasing and upscaling solutions are using sharpening filters in the render path. We picked an RTX 3050 instead of our usual RTX 3080 to minimize CPU bottlenecks for a better idea of what differences to expect performance-wise. The video can help uncover issues like shimmering or temporal instability, which are not visible in the screenshots.Īll tests were made using a GeForce RTX 3050 GPU at Ultra graphics settings with ray tracing at Ultra motion blur and depth of field were disabled for better image viewing. For those who want to see how DLSS and FSR 2.0 perform in motion, watch our side-by-side comparison video. Launch the game, open the graphics options, and enable the "DLSS" setting.īelow, you will find comparison screenshots at 4K, 1440p, 1080p, and in different FSR 2.0 and DLSS quality modes. ![]() Extract nvngx.dll to the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition folder so that it is next to nvngx_dlss.dll and MetroExodus.exe.The directory these are extracted to does not matter. reg files and run EnableSignatureOverride.reg, which may require admin permission. That is why it is recommended that you use your compass if you live in a house and want to nail your Feng Shui. On the contrary, in a house, you will still probably have to pay attention to the elements (fire, earth, metal, water and wood) if you want your Feng Shui to be optimal. Using the compass in an apartment would not make much sense as chances are that looking straight across the front door would be where you would get the most sun (Reputation is ruled by fire). So we use the front door when we apply the Bagua map on an apartment floor plan. Nowadays, urban planning and modern living (electricity, heat, isolation, etc.) prevent apartments and their inhabitants from suffering from adverse weather conditions. Example: Fire and Reputation is in the South because that's where you get the most Sun (fire). Why? So that homes (all set in the countryside) could best benefit from favorable elements and minimize the impact of unfavorable ones (heavy winds or prolonged shade would affect the living conditions of the inhabitants). The Bagua map that the first Feng Shui masters used in China relied on compass directions. Why would there be two different Bagua Map placements? (corresponding to two different Feng Shui schools)? If you are a visual person, I encourage you to check out my online Bagua Course, where I explain exactly what to do in a series of short clips. If you don't have floor plans, try to get accurate readings by measuring your rooms. Therefore, I always suggest to draw your bagua from your floor plans, rather than doing it in your head. ![]() We generally think we have a pretty good idea of how our house looks on plans, but in reality, layouts are often different than we think. The South will be your Reputation Area, The East will be your Ancestors and Health Area, and so on. Most likely, your front door will be either in the Knowledge and Self-cultivation area or in the Career area or in the Helpful People area.Ģ/ If you live in a house: Get a compass (probably the easiest way to get a hold of compass readings is to download a free app on your smartphone) and place the Career Area (from the map above) where your compass indicates the North. Your residence will either be in category one or category two.ġ/ I f you live in an apartment: Align the bottom of the Bagua Map with the Front Entrance wall. This article will walk you through this process. You have read all about how it can change your life.Īnd now, it's time to calculate your Bagua map. It really is a trip which will have you, at various times, laughing, feeling uncomfortable, tumbling other aural references through your head, sometimes nodding along approvingly and at other times being utterly confused. If you think “Ur-folk” is for you, you should start with Dolmen Music. That became increasingly obvious in her career as she wrote for orchestras, theatre ensembles, dance groups and others.ījork is a fan of Dolmen Music, Peter Greenaway directed a doco about Monk and her music, David Byrne used some of her music in his film True Stories, there a funny moment in The Big Lebowski where her music is referenced and Alex Ross in The Rest is Noise described Monk as manipulating “the extremes of her voice to produce the illusion of Ur-folk music, a ritual language of sensual chants”. Here there are elements of liturgical music.Īs the title suggests there is something ancient-to-future about Monk's music: “The voice is a language,” she writes in the album's liner notes. ![]() ![]() The second side – the title track in six parts, from '79 – brings in five other vocalists, a cellist and a percussion player. ![]() Īnd that's just the first side which collects up pieces written between '72 and '75, performed by Monk, Walcott on violin and percussion, with pianist Steve Lockwood on the short centrepiece The Tale. Įlsewhere in her (mostly) wordless vocals she seems to refer to Native American chants, absurdist opera, Asian folk styles, a nod to Broadway ballads. But it also seems to distill many threads from the previous 15 years of avant-garde music: minimalist repetition (Monk is also a pianist) the screaming and vocalisations of Yoko Ono drone tones drawn from Indian music and the Velvet Underground experimental theatre. Pulled off the shelf at random for consideration, Dolmen Music remains an outlier in many ways when we think of the early Eighties. But as Anderson's single was climbing the charts, Monk was recording the challenging Dolmen Music, her debut album on the ECM New Series imprint. Meredith Monk was perhaps an O Superman away from similar wide acclaim and popularity. In his excellent book Love Goes to Buildings on Fire about five years of music in New York in the Seventies, the writer Will Hermes recounts this event and in his next paragraph notes on the same day Laurie Anderson was also creating an experimental piece.Īs we know Anderson became one of the great darlings to emerge from the American avant-garde, especially in the wake of her 1981 single O Superman. She had rented the 1500-seat theatre and her only instrument – aside from her astonishing voice – was a wine-glass which she played in the familiar manner of running a moist finger around the rim.Īlso present was multi-instrumentalist jazz/world music experimentalist Collin Walcott (from the group Oregon) who sometimes tapped on a glass of his own.Īgainst expectation given that spare project, the concert was hailed as an astonishing success, reviewed in the New York Times by John Rockwell who described Monk – attired entirely in white – as “an incontestable virtuoso” and felt he heard a woman's arc from “birth to girlhood to motherhood to shamanistic ecstasy to grief to old age to death”. When Meredith Monk performed at New York's Town Hall on West Forty-Third in January 1973 she had only recently turned 30 and this was, after years of experimental music, dance and multi-media projects, a big moment for her. ![]() ![]() How does slide automation work?
